About Brian

Led by someone who's been the owner.

BC Consulting is a one-person practice, led by Brian Chan.

Before this was a consulting business, Brian spent 17+ years being the person actually responsible for the books: as a bookkeeper, as an operations lead, and as a small business owner. He ran full-cycle bookkeeping and finance operations at a venture-backed tech startup, reporting directly to the CEO. He modernized a healthcare practice's entire financial system from paper ledgers to QuickBooks. And for nearly eight years, he owned and operated a hospitality business himself, which meant being the person responsible for payroll, vendors, cash flow, taxes, and compliance, while also running the day-to-day business those numbers were about.

That's the difference BC Consulting brings: not just knowing how the accounting should work, but having actually been the owner staring at the same QuickBooks screen, wondering why the numbers don't add up.
